I am a old Goth. I <3 the pretension and theatricality. I’ve gone through the angst of being young and although I love the dark side, my humour is intact ;) But chrissakes, know the music. Currently my scene has many faux Goths and johnnie-come-latelies for the mocking. "If you pick up very quick, you can say you were there. Again and again and again you're jumping someone else's train". To me and many elder Goths, some depth is lacking. Or maybe, we’re just too old for the latest incarnation of “Goth” ;P Oh hell - it's all mock worthy! However, I shall keep the candle burning...
I have always detested falseness and all other forms of dishonesty in people. I choose the company of those genuine people who follow their passion, whatever their style or genre and my friends do come from all walks of life. People slavish to a style lack individuality. Be unique – be yourself!
